Do's:
Have your septic tank pumped regularly. We recommend having your tank pumped every three to five years. Some tanks may need to be pumped more often than others depending on tank size, size of family, frequency of use, etc.
Learn the location of your septic system and leaching. Keep a sketch handy for service visits.
Don't:
Flush paper towels, rags, tampons, sanitary napkins, condoms, or diaper wipes into septic system.
Allow anyone to drive or park over any part of system. The leach field area should be left undisturbed, with only a lawn morrow to mow the grass. Roots from nearby trees or shrubs may clog or damage leach lines or septic tank.
